For more than 14 years, the schaeffler big band has been an integral part of the schaeffler company, performing on national and international stages. The musical repertoire includes a colorful mix of classic big band swing à la glenn miller, jazzy pieces and latin music, as well as evergreens and modern chart hits.
In the run-up to christmas, the 25-piece band under the direction of holger bock will give two benefit concerts in erlangen and herzogenaurach, the company announces. "In our advent concerts, we take the audience on a musical journey and get into the mood for a contemplative and peaceful christmas season together.", explains bandleader holger bock.
Proceeds for two projects
On saturday, 7. December, the band performs in the church heilig kreuz in erlangen-bruck. Admission is from 5 p.M., the event begins at 6 p.M. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the parish office, langfeldstrabe 36 in erlangen, as well as on saturdays and sundays before and after church services.
On sunday, 8. December, the big band then invites to st. Magdalena in herzogenaurach a. Admission is also from 5 p.M., the concert begins at 6 p.M. Advance ticket sales will take place in herzogenaurach at the shops W&W optik, fischer moden and at bucher, medien& more instead. There will be a box office on both days of the event.
The proceeds from the ticket sales of the two concerts will go to charity. On the one hand, the proceeds will be used to support the rebuilding of a barrier-free community center for the church of the holy cross in erlangen-bruck, and on the other hand, to support the herzogenaurach children’s fund. After both concerts there will be a gluhweinausschank and time for socializing.
